I'm exhausted with the sort of bingo card you can construct of this era: Baudrillard, Blanchard, Deleuze, Foucault, Derrida, de Sade, Harraway, Bataille (who no one who reads him seems to have anything interesting to say which is a shame since he is actually interesting), Ballard, etc. There is nothing wrong with the individual parts (i actually *like* a lot of the individual parts) but there isn't anything to say with them after the initial stapling together of a thesis statement (the best part [...]

Wordy to a masturbatory degree, but occasionnally very enlightening.Most appreciated the diverse and charming culturel references: from obscure old-school french erotica, to the world record of sex in 24 hours' time, to linguistics and greek myths ("panic" comes from "pan"? who knew), to american cults of the 1970s. The best thing I got out of this book was a list of other books to read, which in the end, is not such a bad thing.
