    1. Another look into this young families day to day life. The family go to the supermarket for their food shop along with their dog who waits outside, and by the look on the dogs face you can tell he thought something else was was going to happen. Mum gets lots of help around the shop, dog does not want to get back into the car, and they all go home again. The drawings aren't quite as good as others in the series but this book was still a favourite when my children were small.

    2. Oh how I loved Sarah Garland's books when I had small children! And I still think they are important today, as they reflect the reality and messiness that can be the nature of family life with little ones. I felt so relieved to see and read about a non-perfect mum. Lovely pictures that always bring a smile, and decades later I remember with great fondness.
