    3. Crime novels often involve the story of a former cop turned private detective. That's what we have here. Crager is an 18 year veteran of a city police force who was forced to quit two years short of pension eligibility after an incident involving a shooting in a drug take-down. The story is told in the first person, and the protagonist has the usual faults, booze and women. Thankfully we have a realistic story line, and there are insights into the nuances of the murky world of minor league baseb [...]

    4. Always like those reforming officers who find a new cause. This one caught my attention with cover. Story was interesting & writer kept me guessing most of time.
