A well-written account of the author's journeys in Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Cornwall, Brittany and the Isle of Man (Penn is half Manx/half English himself) in search of what a "Celtic" identity really means. A nasty incident in which he was the victim of gratuitous violence nearly put me off, but I decided to push on. The book was written a decade ago, and I'm truly sorry not to see more by him. Only "negative" I found was relating entire conversations where I just couldn't deal with having to [...]

    2. Rob Penn keeps his stories of wandering around Scotland and Wales really interesting with his sense of humour and information snippets thrown here and there.Great for anyone interested in the subject of what it means to be a Celt!
